The AICTE IDEA Lab at Vemu Institute of Technology is a multidisciplinary innovation space designed to inspire creativity, encourage problem-solving, and nurture future-ready skills.
About IDEA Lab
AICTE IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation, and Application) lab is being established to encourage students to apply Science, Technological, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) time fundamentals towards enhancing hands-on experience, learning by doing, and even product visualization. As a common facility embedded in the institute, the ideal lab will make engineering graduates more imaginative and creative by getting basic training of 21st-century skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, design thinking, collaboration, contribution, lifelong learning etc. The ideal lab can empower the students and faculty to encourage explorer experience to express themselves and excel addressing the needs of new age learning. Idea lab would serve as infrastructure for faculty to take upon and promote multidisciplinary education research. Accordingly, faculty would be encouraged to get trained in these labs and strive find create problems/ projects/ internships in their subjects/ disciplines and mentor the students.
The IDEAL lab will provide all facilities under one roof, fire conversion of an idea into a prototype. The idea need not always a new (which will always be encouraged) but the emphasis would be graduating engineers with their hands using equipment tools and consumables. With these facilities available 24/7 on the campus, more students and faculty will be encouraged to take up creative work processes. Getting trained on creative thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, etc.,
Vision and Mission of VEMU AICTE IDEA lab
Vision
- To foster a vibrant innovative ecosystem for the development of marketable products by applying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematical fundamentals.
- To facilitate hands on practice on 21st-century skills like Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Design Thinking, Technology and collaborations to provide better solutions for societal problems.
- To facilitate on practice on Industry 4.o technologies to convert innovation into prototypes.
- To provide infrastructure support in multiple disciplinary, innovative education center to bring back dropouts into the mainstream for both formal and nonformal education -National Educational Policy.
- To encourage Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship among students, Alumni, Faculty and Industry for supporting Self Reliant -Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Mission
- To provide hands on experience to create Innovation projects among the students to meet the Industrial needs.
- To accelerate the journey of idea to prototype making by providing access to sophisticated equipment and tools.
- To conduct various workshops, Internships, Skill Development programs, and FDPs in networking with nearby colleges and Industries to meet knowledge transfer programs.

VEMUIT AICTE- Idea Lab provide access to resources such as maker spaces, 3D printers, prototyping tools, laser cutting and engraving machines, CNC wood router, CNC machine, PCB milling machine, IoT and embedded system.
Mentorship
Our Idea Labs offers mentorship to guide individuals in refining their ideas and projects.
Workshops and Training
Idea Labs frequently organize workshops, training sessions, and seminars to help participants develop the skills needed to bring their ideas to life.

Idea Lab will help facilitate networking among participants, mentors, and external partners, creating opportunities for future collaborations and partnerships.

Idea lab organize innovation challenges and competitions to spark creativity and problem-solving among the participants.
