INSTITUTION INNOVATION COUNCIL (IIC)

About IIC :

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established Institution Innovation Council (IIC) to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst students and faculty. The primary mandate of IIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are in formative years.

Objectives :

  1. To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities
  2. To Identify and reward innovations and share success stories among students and faculty.
  3. To organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions/ hackathons/ idea competition/ mini-challenges etc.
  4. To create a mentor pool for student innovators with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals, industries etc.
  5. To Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations

Outcomes :

  1. To create a vibrant college level innovation ecosystem.
  2. Start-up supporting Mechanism to students
  3. Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Framework (ARIIA).
  4. Establish Function Ecosystem for Scouting Ideas and Pre-incubation of Ideas.
  5. Develop better Cognitive Ability for Technology Students.

Establishment of Entrepreneurship Development Cell at VEMU

The aim of Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) at VEMU Institute of Technology is to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial qualities in the budding professionals who are interested in starting their own ventures. The College provides infrastructure and technical support to the students having innovative ideas to transform into new products and services for the betterment of the society

The cell is functioning on full time basis to carry out the activities on day-to-day basis. All the infrastructural required for smooth functioning of the cell have been created.

Objectives of the Cell

The main objective of this cell is to train and motivate the Engineering, management, polytechnic students of the college as well as students from neighboring institutions and any graduate students in and around Chittoor district to become Job Creators rather than Job Seekers.

  • To inculcate the entrepreneurial culture into their minds.

    2. Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP)
    3. Faculty Development programs (FDP)
    4. Skill development programs (SDP)
  • To assist them in starting industries of their own right from
    1. Product Identification (PI)
    2. Market Survey, tools for market research
    3. Preparation of Project Reports
    4. Assist them in getting Technical feasibility Reports
    5. To liaison with various external agencies like CIPET, NSIC, CFTRI, CLRI, SIPCOT, SIDCO, SISI, DIC and leading Financial Institutions & Banks like IDBI, SIDBI, TIIC, Indian Bank and others.
