Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Center (APSSDC) has set up AP CM's Skill Excellence Center in the year 2017-18.

Purpose and Scope

To make qualitative improvements in imparting Technical Skills by setting up or providing:

1. Infrastructure in college laboratories by adopting latest technologies in engineering streams of CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and Civil to serve the needs of the industry.
2. Skill up-gradation of faculty by imparting training.
3. ICT Labs to focus on training students in line with the latest industry needs and make them more employable.
4. Promote Industry-Academia interfacing to make improvements in Technical Skills sustainable and in line with industry requirements.
5. Train students to improve employability-Improved placements of students in college and enable the students to compete and succeed in national employment market with better remuneration and professional growth.
6. Create a pool of skilled manpower to cater to the current and future industrial and service sector needs.

Cloud Computing and Cyber Security Labs is initiated in VEMU IT in the year AY: 2017-18. The rapid proliferation of various delivery channels in the form of Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, ATM, etc.., is increasingly exposing banks to new risks such as identity theft, hacker attacks and other security threats. These are issues which are not confined to any one country but are global in nature given the widespread advances in computing and internet technologies. The Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security (CCS), serves as the "one stop" resource centre for all Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, tools, literature, and expertise for the banking sector.
